KAMALPUR, Oct 24 (TIWN) : The shocking and shattering memory of malaria is yet not faded out from the memory of the citizens. Still the State Govt. is adopting different serious measures to check any further possibility of spread of malaria.
But, in the Kamalpur subdivision the scenario is far more contrary to the state and the SDMO and other authority has decreased the spray of DDT to large content in comparison with previous years. According to the BSM Hospital sources, this year anti-mosquito chemical DDT has been sprayed for only 47 days in two steps. In previous years, the same was done for 150 days. The shocking situation deepens further as the total 42 workers even not get their full wages. The wage per worker is 130 rupees per day. In total they had to get total 6110 rupees per worker. But on the eve of Puja they were paid only 1560 rupees and the rest was assured to be paid just after Puja. But still they remained unpaid as they authority is making excuses like not having the sanction etc. They decrease in number of days in DDT spray and the not paying of wages has worsen the situation. Now the steps from the top brass officials of the department is the matter to be seen.
