AGARTALA, Aug 14 (TIWN): 31 years old lady was brutally gang-raped, attempted to be murdered on spot in the capital city Agartala when she was travelling via auto to her home from Battala.

The victim is suffering with major injuries in various parts of her body at the GB Hospital.

Anandanagar Police Station OC said that at around night 8 pm he was informed about the incident. Police rushed to the home, where the victim took shelter at Malaynagar.

The family which gave her shelter told media, when she came there was no cloth on her body her neck was cut and bleeding heavily.

Family members gave her cloth and local people and took her to Anandanagar hospital. Later she was referred in GB hospital.

2 persons in an auto were riding with her. This auto was going from Battala to Post Office Chowmuhani area.

With the help of the auto driver, the rapists took the auto in various places and raped her multiple times, by changing one spot to another and at last they attempted to kill her by sharp weapon and left her after majorly injuring on road-side.

She didn’t die fortunately and in anyway reached in an unknown house without any cloth on her body. Then the matter was taken care by the local people and police were informed.

Her mental condition is critical. She is not telling about her family members’ names due to shame and fear and just saying she knows her home and asking everyone to take her to there.

No arrest so far of the criminals and Women Commission’s role is totally unsatisfactory.
