Agartala, Oct 24 (TIWN): The acute diesel crisis created chaos among the state people. Following the diesel crisis in Tripura, movement of vehicles has been collapsed partially. Specially the vehicles move to out of the state are facing difficulties at such situation.
According to a press release issued by Food and Civil Supplies Department, diesel crisis was not supposed hit the state. But the acute diesel crisis gripped the state for more than 10 days. ‘Diesel not available’ boards were found hanging in many of the diesel pumps in the capital city- Agartala on Friday too. Hundred of vehicles including long queues of consumers were seen in front of the diesel pumps.
According to the sources, altogether 22 diesel tankers entered in the state till Wednesday while some of the fuel tankers are likely to arrive in Tripura shortly. The Food and Civil Supplies Department appealed to the state people for not to stock extra diesel unnecessarily. The city requires a total of 30,000 liters of diesel per day. The acute diesel crisis occurred in the state due to the delay of pump owners for making draft, confirmed sources.
It is to be mentioned here that, earlier, a acute fuel crisis was witnessed by the state people as fuel that comes to the state from Assam has been disrupted due to the continuous blockade of National Highway (NH) 44 in Meghalaya till September 28, last which hit the stock of petrol in the state just before the beginning of Durga puja festival.
