AGARTALA, Aug 2 (TIWN): After 17 months of BJP Govt, as Tripura Govt didn’t work on the regularization of SSA teachers, the teachers have now reminded the Govt with evidences what they promised before election as opposition party. Observing a hunger strike movement of the SSA teachers in 2017 from August 1st to August 7th, the BJP as opposition party not only promised to regularize them but also in its Vision Document BJP scripted promise, “Regularization of all contractual teachers” once BJP came in power. Ironically instead of regularizing, huge numbers of contractual employees are being terminated. Association Secretary said in a social media post shared a post of Ratanlal Nath in facebook back in 2017 after he along with BJP top leaders met SSA teachers during hunger strike. It was shared because this is the second anniversary of 7 days long hunger strike which was conducted in CPI-M regime in 2017. Many teachers fell sick during hunger strike, hospitalized.

Bastab Debbarma said, “In 2017, we did hunger strike against the then govt for the SSA employees regularisation. The strike was started from 1st August to 7th August,2017.Our present honourable CM,EM and Sunil Deodharji sir had come on the 4th day of the Hunger Strike and also on that day they assured SSA employees if the BJP will come in power they will regularize SSA employees within a few of months. Now,all the SSA employees are eagerly waiting for the regularization”.

On that time, Ratanlal Nath promised before media, “We will regularize the teachers once we are voted to power”.

The association organized various mass movements demanding regularization. Total 5,145 teachers and 399 non-teaching staffs are in this Association.
