AGARTALA, June 14 (TIWN): Local TV channel “Headlines Tripura”'s former Journalist Anupam Paul was arrested at Delhi for spreading fake news against Chief Minister Biplab Deb.

Interestingly, Anupam Paul was inventor of 'Chalo Paltai', also former IT-Cell head of Tripura BJP but quit the party after 2018 election and launched campaigning against BJP.  After leaving BJP, Anupam Paul worked in State Congress IT Cell.

Police lodged a case against Anupam Paul after he allegedly shared, spread contents alleging Biplab Deb’s wife had filed a divorce petition in Delhi High Court against Biplab Deb.

When Anupam Paul shared one photo with “Headlines Tripura” official instruments, Headlines Tripura Editor Pranab Sarkar filed case against Anupam alleging, Anupam was never an employee of this channel. This move by Pranab Sarkar came after fingers raised against Pranab Sarkar for conspiracy against Biplab Deb for denying West Tripura MP seat in Lok Sabha Election but immediately a file video of Anupam Paul went viral where Headlines Tripura reporter Anupam Paul covering a program as their reporter and then Anupam shared pictures with Headlines Tripura staffs and Editor Pranab Sarkar.

Moreover, an ID signed by Pranab Sarkar was also shared by Anupam Paul where Sarkar declared him as his employee in 2015.

1)Anupam possessed valid ID card of Headlines Tripura 04/15

2)Pranab Sarkar had even taken a joint photo with Anupam inside Headlines Tripura's news room

3)In a video clipping of Headlines Tripura, a news reader categorically expressed that Anupam was Headlines Tripura's reporter of Nutan Bazar.

Not only this. Last year Pranab Sarkar himself wrote a news in a popular Bengali daily Sambad Pratidin published from Kolkata. In that news Pranab also used his name and strongly criticised Biplab Deb's statement, in which he advised unemployed youths of Tripura to sell betel(Pan) and milk. In that very news Pranab even stated day by day foolish comments of CM Biplab Deb.

Tripura police earlier arrested one TV journalist and many more facebook users, but ironically Govt didn’t take action against national media where those news were published, neither the news was deleted.

Tripura DGP (Incharge) Rajiv Singh confirmed media that Anupam Paul was arrested in Delhi and in transit to Agartala via flight.

Recently, Anupam Paul’s his family members were attacked and his house was burnt .
