AGARTALA, June 9 (TIWN): “Landslide victory of Modi Govt has proven there was no anti-incumbency against the Government of India which is ruling the country since 2014. Prime Minister Modi never forced people for Hinduism, neither he preached for forcible worshiping of any religion, but he gained public trust and along with Sab-Ka-Sath, he achieved Sabka-Biswasâ€, said Tripura Chief Minister Biplab Deb while addressing in a Hindu religious conference at the capital city Agartala. Biplab Deb said, India is such a country where a King like Ashoka converted into Buddhism but those who kept on claiming for long 70 years about secularism could not win against Modi Govt because their secularism was fake, unable to understand the culture of India. “They called religious faith is “Ku-Sanskar†(superstitions) but what our (BJP) ideology has been to keep up the “Sanskar†by removing “ku†(bad culture). “In Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh so many attempts were done to strike Modi’s ideology and political parties aligned to gain all types of religions’ faiths but it did not help them to defeat Modiâ€, said Biplab Deb.
Deb said, this Lok Sabha Election is a lesson for them who by mouth always uttered “secularism” but misinterpreted religions.
The 2019 Indian general election was held in seven phases from 11 April to 19 May 2019 to constitute the 17th Lok Sabha. The counting of votes took place on 23 May, and on the same day the results were declared.
About 900 million people were eligible to vote and turnout was over 67 per cent – the highest ever as well as the highest participation by women voters. BJP won 303 seats.
In Tripura BJP gained both seats, however, violence was complained throughout the poll season.
