NEW DELHI / AGARTALA, May 24 (TIWN): Congress State President Pradyot Manikya has asked BJP to control its hooligans who are deeply indulged in post poll violence.

At least 55 counting agents were beaten in Tripura during the counting session.

“Congratulations to Biplab Deb for the victory . I also extend my best wishes to both the Candidates from the BJP on their victory . The Congress Party which has no MLA'S has increased its vote share from 1.7 percent to near about 30 percent and reduced the Left which has 16 Mla's to the 3rd position . I would also like to thank the voters who turned out in huge numbers and supported the Congress Party .And my humble request to the BJP is that you have won the elections please be gracious in victory and ask certain elements who take refuge in the party not to indulge in any post poll violence and intimidation”, said Pradyot Manikya.

Tripura BJP’s two candidates have marked victory in both seats.

From West Tripura Pratima Bhowmik has been elected as MP, whereas in East Tripura, Rebati Tripura have won the election.
