AGARTALA / NEW DELHI, May 23 (TIWN): After 17th Lok Sabha Election result was declared on Thursday and BJP led NDA grabbed a massive victory giving shocks to the opposition parties with unexpected poll-results, Congress National President Rahul Gandhi has congratulated Narendra Modi for massive victory saying, “We all have to accept, Narendra Modi is going to be the next Prime Minister of India as the people of the country have decided so. But, I firmly believe that in this country there are huge numbers of people, who keep trust on Congress ideology and our ideology has been love. Tomorrow you may call me anything or slam me, but my reaction to you will be with love and patience. It was battle between Narendra Modi’s ideology and Congress’s ideology and to all the people who trust in Congress ideology I would like to tell them-“Daro Mat” (Don’t be afraid). Love never gets defeated”.Replying media queries on the critical situation of Congress in Election, Rahul Gandhi replied, “Today is not the day, to go in details of the mandate of the day. Today is the day, when new Prime Minister has been elected and we hope he will look after the distress of the people”.

With the BJP set for a landslide victory in the national elections, Prime Minister Narendra Modi today thanked the nation in a tweet and praised party workers for their "determination, perseverance and hardwork". The PM said that "together we will build a strong and inclusive India". Leads show that PM Modi's BJP will again get a clear majority on its own by winning 294 seats, which is better than the 282 seats it had won in the 2014 general elections.

The BJP-led National Democratic Alliance or NDA is ahead in 345 seats, leads show, while the Congress-led UPA is leading in 91 seats. In 2014, the NDA had won 336. It was the first time in more than three decades that a single party won majority on its own.

BJP chief Amit Shah today said the massive win is the victory of PM Modi's development and the people's trust in him.

"This victory is India's victory. This is the victory of the hopes of youths, the poor, and farmers. This massive win is the victory of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's development and the people's trust in him. On the behalf of crores of BJP workers, I congratulate Narendra Modi," Amit Shah tweeted.
