AGARTALA, May 21 (TIWN): A woman was beaten, hair was chopped off and face was darkened by neighbours in allegation of having extra-marital affair recently. Till now no justice the victim has received but now Women Commission members have come forward to help the victim.
Women Commission delegations led by Chairperson Barnali Goswami have visited the victim’s maternal home, where right now she is residing with her parents.
Commission sought immediate action against the mob who attacked her physically, cute her hair, darkened her face and also maligned her social image.
All happened in absence of her husband.
Earlier, her husband said, there is absolutely no reason to raise question on his wife’s character but against his will few neighbours entered her home when after male neighbour friend entered in the home in absence of her husband, but his support could not stay with her on trust based as Women Commission spotted her in her maternal home.
The attack was held by Rutan Das, Gautam and many more.
The incident took place at Bodhjunganagar Rajabarbag area on May 1st. Condemnation was done by media and public and finally Women Commission members of state have paid visit her home.
