AGARTALA / NEW DELHI, May 17 (TIWN): Opposition parties re-poll demands and legal battles have been continuing in Tripura, everyday hitting national media headlines. Due to BJP MP candidate Pratima Bhowmik led massive rigging, tortures on voters centering 48 hours of pre and post poll hours with help of corrupt Govt officials as IPS Rajiv Singh Tripura’s image was tarnished nationally whereas now the Election Special Observer Vinod Zutshi’s name has been exposed indulged in alleged Election Corruption. 11th April’s massive vote-robbery not only shocked Tripura voters but also state’s image which was 90% earlier, has downed with rigging and low voting percentage. The CPI-M earlier had filed a case in Supreme Court whereas under Supreme Court’s suggestion, the case has moved in High Court and it has filed accordingly. Congress State President Pradyot Manikya now has charged EC Special Observer Vinod Zutshi accusing him for favouring BJP in election time. It was said that ECI was ready to conduct repoll in 433 booths as recommended by Tripura CEO Sriram Taranikanti but it was Vinod Zutshi who overruled the matter with sole intention to benefit BJP Candidate Pratima Bhowmik.

 Congress demanded the report of the observer Vinod Zutshi to be given to us so that it can challenge this order (specifically )in the Supreme Court.

When Tripura was known for 90% voting percentage, within 14 months of Biplab Deb Govt it has downed at 70%. On yesterday the voting percentage remained at 73%.

Recently after the repoll, Congress MP candidate Subal Bhowmik has slammed BJP Govt saying even if by-election is conducted voting percentage goes 85%.

But Education Minister Ratanlal Nath has claimed that Tripura Election has been free and fair and totally peaceful, which has cited example of “Peaceful Election”.

BJP on 168 booths’ re-poll day (May 12) has desperately blamed the Central forces accusing them for terrorizing voters.BJP MP candidate Pratima Bhowmik going one step ahead said, each of the BSF jawans including Tripura Police, TSR acted as opposition party workers.

BJP MP candidate of the West Tripura constituency Pratima Bhowmik who became viral in social media for her controversial leaked video where she is threatening IPS Officer Kiran Kumar saying, “Tereko abhi hum maar dalenga” is yet spared from any action by Election Commission.
