Crucial meeting of Congress with Central Election Commissioner today, Subal Bhowmik reached in Delhi

AGARTALA, April 29 (TIWN): Subal Bhowmik, the candidate for West Tripura Lok Sabha constituency, on yesterday had left for New Delhi and going to meet Election Commission Chief Sunil Arora today. In Delhi, first he met the senior leaders of the Congress Party and the party's top legal advisors and the Election Commission of India and pursue for the re-vote in the entire West Tripura constituency. It has been acknowledged that the Congress party would go to the Supreme Court if the terrible vote in the West Tripura constituency, not announcing the vote again in the entire west constituency. He said that Congress's all-India leadership in Delhi has made the final decision. Congress party will file a case in the Supreme Court if the entire West Tripura Lok Sabha seat is not re-voted. During the visit, Subal Bhowmik to his Delhi, he will also talk to the top members of legal counselors of Congress party about this. Shri Bhowmik also said that, there is a lot of evidence that there is a fraud and huge rigging of votes in the West Tripura constituency.

According to his claim, more than one and a half million voters were not allowed to vote. More than half of the voting centers, the CC camera was stuck or was not fitted or dysfunctional. 

They already gave some evidence to the Election Commission. More information has already been collected by his team. He said that he would take the information along with him to Delhi.

Bhowmik, however, said that he still believes, the Election Commission of India would again vote for the entire west Tripura constituency afresh election as the State Election Commission also acknowledged that on April 11, 2019 the vote in the West Tripura Lok Sabha constituency was not properly done. Many Assistant Returning Officers (AROs), Presiding Officers, Micro Observers, Polling Agents did not perform their duties properly or did deliberately shirk. Both the main opposition parties, Congress and the CPM have demanded re-poll in the entire West Tripura Parliamentary constituency.

On the other side, Tripura Chief Minister Biplab Deb said that re-poll demand is a political matter, should be unattached from High Court, Supreme Court.
