AGARTALA, April 20 (TIWN): On the pick hours of East Tripura Constituency Election, house to house midnight threats of ruling party have begun, provoking tension allover. The polling agents of the CPI-M, Congress were threatened not to come in the polling station on 23rd April or their properties will be destroyed. In pen-papers this notice was wrote and pasted in front of many houses. Two polling agents of CPI-M Nilkanta Sinha and Bipul Sinha have been threatened via notice-pasted in dark hours of the night saying if any of them comes as polling agents, then their shop, houses will be burnt and also they will see a deadly consequence. Earlier on 16th April same thing was done when house to house beheaded chickens with papers were pasted before voters home, saying if they go to cast vote, then their conditions will be like that. On that time, Election Commission of India followed by massive violence, booth capturing, poll rigging in West Tripura constituency and lack of security during West Poll, postponed the election till April 23rd until huge securities are deployed.

However, CEO Sriram Taranikanti has assured about tight security’s deployment all across and asked voters not be afraid of “Badmash” and “Goondas”.

Addressing media on yesterday, the CEO said, “Additional Forces are expected anytime. However, already forces are available in all the six districts. New Police observers have been additionally appointed in the state”.

“There are also special police observers who have been appointed. We hope with all the measures, we will be able to conduct a peaceful election. We expect political parties would behave accordingly. With everyone’s help we hope Tripura election will be gone well”, said Taranikanti.

BJP’s MP candidates in Tripura were issued by Election Commission’s notice due to their violation of election expenditure. Also Congress filed complaint to Election Commission on a video footage where Pratima Bhowmik is threatening an IPS Officer to “murder on spot”.
