AGARTALA, April 17 (TIWN): In a bold step to save bureaucracy & fight against criminal officials, Tripura Congress has decided to file case against corrupt polling personnel on Govt duty for destroying web-casting and manipulating polls. Addressing media after Election Commission of India interfered in Tripura election and signaled for repolling in West Tripura Election, Congress State President Pradyot Manikya told the polling personnel who were involved in poll rigging by misusing position said, “Aap phas gaye hai….” (you are caught and under problem). Your work is to save democracy, not poll code’s violation”. Being asked by media, whether Congress will win if repoll is held, Pradyot Manikya said, “It’s not about Congress’s winning. It’s about people’s voting right and democracy and free and fair election”.

East Tripura constituency poll has been deferred from 18th April to 23rd April due to huge violence across the state.From West Tripura election, massive rigging has been launched by ruling BJP which has been continuing for East Tripura also. BJP also issues notices infront of houses saying if anyone comes to cast vote their condition will be like a “Beheaded Chicken”. With that notice cut chickens’ heads were also pinned on the main gates of the voters. “The poll for 2 Tripura East ( ST) pc on 18th April has been deferred to 23rd April, 2019”, confirmed the Election Commission.

Addressing press meet, CEO Sriram Taranikanti said that what happened on 11th April, we don’t to repeat it again. As a result for preparation and more security forces arrangements this election has been deferred.

He said, Congress is happy that after viewing evidences submitted by Congress, the Commission has taken this decision. Manikya also mentioned, he is nobody to comment on the serious issue what is right and wrong.

“All people in system are not bad, but when EC took the decision the corrupts get a lesson”, he added.
