AGARTALA, April 2 (TIWN): In a big blow for the IPFT, 500 families along with 65 leaders from IPFT have today joined Congress. Vice Chairman of IPFT Pritimohon Tripura after joining Congress said, “BJP’s Sab-ka-sath, Sbka-bikas is now turned as DHKABAAJ whereas IPFT has removed the word “Tipraland” permanently in alliance with BJP. The activists of IPFT joined over recently announced Supreme Court’s verdict on Forest Right which says, all Forest residing people will be evicted for the safety of animals based on a statement of the Central BJP Govt. Addressing media, Pritimohon Tripura said, “We joined IPFT for our motherland, whereas today we don’t have any life’s security. But Ministers like NC Debbarma are enjoying their luxuries, betraying the Tiprasa people. BJP takes us to various rallies, but after returning from rallies they forget us (IPFT). Congress State President Pradyot Manikya has promised us on land-right issue whereas NC Debbarma had nothing to criticize the BJP Govt.

Moreover, the Tipraland issue is no more existing. Tipraland is finally banned today under IPFT leaders”.

“As our Tipraland is banned, so we though deeply and talked with our Maharaja and in cold head have taken this decision. We worked for IPFT for 11 years but IPFT leaders are today exposed as betrayers”, Tripura said. IPFT is the politically aligned party with BJP in Tripura with two of its Ministers NC Debbarma and Mebar Jamatia are holding Forest Dept and Tribal Welfare Dept.

The resentment against IPFT leaders started when they remained silent over Citizenship Amendment Bill (CAB) which was by force attempted to be passed in the Parliament.

The second shock the Tiprasa people received when while agitating against CAB, Tripura Police illegally started firing at Madhab Bari in Jirania and later attacked in the ambulance. A group of BJP, from outside of Madhab Bari entered the area and burnt public properties.

The BJP Govt-IPFT had failed to order a judicial investigation amid hundreds of viral footages on police’s brutal attacks and other violence, whereas NC Debbarma and Mebar Jamatia remained silent.

Even after multiple requests, these Ministers did not resign and recently Congress State President Pradyot Manikya invited NC Debbarma to align with Congress in protest against BJP over the controversial Citizenship Amendment Bill, but as NC Debbarma and Mebar Jamatia denied to resign from Ministry, huge numbers of IPFT youths activists have joined Congress.
