AGARTALA, March 30 (TIWN): BJP General Secretary, MP candidate Pratima Bhowmik led massive poll violence have hit the democracy amid model code of conduct followed by BJP’s massive loss in popularity under Biplab-Pratima regime. Attacks on West Tripura opposition candidates have become daily news which is her contesting seat. Bhowmik who made crores in last one year via various corruptions in Govt Depts has been funding hooligans to attack the opposition voters, leaders day night but unfortunately even after complaining various times, Election Commission has not so far taken initiative to improve the situation. CPI-M has written to Election Commission to change the Returning Officer of West District who is none other than DM-West Sandeep Mahatme, allegedly helped BJP to win local body polls without contest and open rigging. Few more officers names were also listed to the Commission, so far left without action. State Congress also has demanded free and fair election in Tripura from Election Commission of India.

The demand came after multiple attacks took place on opposition leaders, activists in Tripura amid model code of conduct.

From MPs to Ex-CM Manik Sarkar, resigned BJP Vice President , Congress MP candidate Subal Bhowmik were massively attacked. But no goon was arrested so far.

In a letter to the Election Commission of India, Congress Vice President of Tripura Tapas Dey wrote, “Our party leaders and workers are under constant threat of facing with dire consequences if they dare to participate in the campaign process. This is well reflected by the fact that even the INC candidate from west Tripura parliamentary constituency was attacked by BJP hooligans on 28/03/2019 in Sonamura Sub Division. We would also like to put on record that Shri Shankar Prasad Datta, CPI(M) candidate from west Tripura parliamentary seat was attacked thrice by the BJP rowdies and no action regarding all such incidents have been initiated which has induced the BJP workers in taking law in their hands”.

“The role of the police is such the common people are fast loosing confidence upon them as they have proved themselves to be the stooge of the ruling party  in Tripura. This can be well reflected by the fact that in spite of many incidents of torture, assault and violation of MCC the police has failed to sue motto register cases. They prefer to remain a silent spectator pleasing the bosses”.

The violence has been followed by the past two local body elections which were openly won by BJP through rigging. 

Especially West Tripura whose candidate of BJP is the most controversial figure ever in Tripura politics with tainted backround Pratima Bhowmik against whom murder cases were registered has sponsored highest ever violence and Biplab Deb’s 90% energy in poll campaigning is dedicated for Pratima Bhowmik.

Bhowmik was reason behind all party offices of oppositions’ demolition.

Pratima Bhowmik is not only accuse of one murder but  BJP MLA Surajit Dutta himself brought serious allegation against her saying she had nexus with drug empire. Resigned BJP Vice President Subal Bhoumik after joining Congress asked, if Surajit Dutta was wrong then why BJP is silent over his allegation.

Statewide massive violence has been sponsored specially in the West Tripura. Day night attacks are going on against CPI-M West Tripura MP Sankar Prasad Dutta. On yesterday also a party office of CPI-M was burnt. Such crime started since the election result day under Pratima Bhowmik’s leadership. Bhowmik is also known as the de-fatco home minister of Tripura.

Recently in another programme, Pratima Bhowmik said that Tripura’s “Prapti Yug will start” after she becomes the MP.

Pratima Bhowmik was allegedly responsible for attacks upon opposition in last 1 year where above 2000 opposition activists were seriously injured and 6 were killed and many people’s houses, properties were burnt. Also she without having any official position directly controls official matters of Biplab Deb’s Govt. Top BJP leaders have resigned from party after BJP nominated her as MP candidate.

She is the main cause, along with CM Biplab Deb led party’s indiscipline situation. Pratima Bhowmik has submitted nomination today for West Tripura’s MP seat for BJP.

She is also the general secretary of State BJP, was defeated in last Assembly Election with Manik Sarkar at Dhanpur constituency.However, she is quite controversial figure in Tripura politics was the accused of her own brother’s wife’s murder. Few more cases were lodged against here during CPI-M era for anti-social works.

Also BJP MLA Surajit Dutta has alleged her nexus with drug mafias of the state. At the same time, Pratima Bhowmik has disputed property which is unmatched with her earning.
