AGARTALA, March 21 (TIWN): Congress President Rahul Gandhi during his Khumulwng rally has promised the gathering that once Congress will be in power, all Northeastern states including Tripura will get special-status which was existing in UPA era, but snatched by BJP Govt after 2014.He also announced to launch direct-funding system for the ADC development.“Northeast’s various states have various types of problems. We want Tripura to be ruled by people of Tripura, farmers of Tripura, not by RSS in Chandigarh. I am promising Autonomous District Council will get direct funding from centre”, Rahul Gandhi told the people. “Congress Govt was to be formed in Tripura, but the rights under various tricks have been snatched”, said Gandhi.“In Tripura as well as in centre BJP has to be washed away and in this joint fight of Lok Sabha election Congress must win. Both seats should be won by Congress here”, Rahul Gandhi said.Rahul Gandhi further promised to restore special-category status of Tripura along with whole Northeastern states.
