AGARTALA, March 12 (TIWN): Announcing MP Jitendra Chaudhury (East Tripura, ST seat), MP Shankar Prasad Datta (West Tripura seat) will be contesting as the MP candidates for Tripura's two seats for the upcoming Lok Sabha Election, CPI-M said, it's confident of winning the Election. Ahead of Lok Sabha election rally kicked off on Tuesday afternoon by CPI-M in poll bound Tripura as a part of nationwide General Election, the party has urged voters to vote for these two Leftist candidate so that a democratic environment can be nurtured in the state and would help to remove Modi Govt at the centre. After a State Committee meeting, CPI-M calling a press conference announced these names. The Party spokesperson Bijan Dhar said, CPI-M is positive of winning both seats in the upcoming Lok Sabha Election if democratic set up can be created during the polling days. “Vote for us, if you want to breath followed by long tortures under BJP-IPFT Govt. Left parties have always been the best option for democracy and in Tripura Left Govt has been the best Govts everâ€, the party spokesperson said. The party leader also said, removing BJP at centre is the ultimate aim of CPI-M now and any other democratic party or Govt in alliance is accepted except BJP.
“BJP has two policies : 1) To torture minorities and 2) Capitalism. BJP has ruined the economy already; no more damage should be done. Farmers' suicides are increasing, massive terminations are going on and capitalists are looting the country. Corruption is the major contribution of BJP”, Dhar said.
“Corruptions also had taken place earlier, but under this Govt the level of corruption was unseen by people of India since independence. In last 45 years, unemployment rate is highest under Modi Govt, whereas in 2014 they promised to give 2 crores jobs but per year above 1 crore of people are losing their jobs”, he added.
“GDP growth is no way related to employment generation”, Bijan Dhar told media.
Talking about Tripura’s condition, Bijan Dhar said, “The double engine is leading the state into major crisis. No work. No right for democratic practices. No Work. No Job. No food. No right for opposition party offices. No right for holding rallies”.
“Now people want to be freed from this situation. Nationwide, BJP’s downfall is expected. People in Tripura are now repenting after voting for BJP. They are unable to protest against BJP led misrules as the BJP Govt has made full preparation for that. The ongoing attacks are parts of this……..In this condition CPI-M wants to remove Modi and his BJP at the centre. We want to strengthen Left representatives in the Parliament by this election", Bijan Dhar said.
