AGARTALA, March 12 (TIWN): Under Election Commission’s Order, administration has started a crackdown on banners and posters put up at public places following the announcement of general elections by the Election Commission of India.
In drive at the capital city Agartala across the city a total mess up of banners with Modi’s photos were visible, raising question how much crores were invested in Modi’s propaganda.
Other parties banners were however less found, as under BJP ruling, unofficial ban on oppositions’ banners were alleged. BJP Govt bulldozed hundreds of party offices of opposition.
EC officials present while crackdown of banners said, that after the announcement of elections by the Election Commission, officials attached to the local administration and public works department have been instructed for removing the flex banners and cut-outs of various political parties.
The officials were directed to removed flex boards and cut-outs at night while they were asked to whitewash political graffiti on walls during the day.
“It will take at least three or four days to remove banners from public places,” said the official.
The model code of conduct came into force on March 10 and would be in force till the completion of the election process.
