AGARTALA, March 11 (TIWN): Protest have hit Education department today by agitated TET qualified unemployed youths as BJP led State Govt is silent over the pending recruitments. When state govt is crying over teachers’ crisis, centre gave recruitment relaxation for 12,222 posts filling up. But after getting relaxation in TET-I only for 180 seats the interview has been called. More 791 TET qualifiers left unemployed. Moreover, in CPI-M Govt’s time when advertisement called for 6422 seats in TET-I, now the new Govt downed it at 180 vacancies. Protesting over the year-long standstill in recruitment, the TET Qualifiers gheraoed Education Dept today. Addressing media, the TET qualified unemployed youths said, “The previous Govt in TET advertisement called for 6422 vacant posts filling up. In TET-II it was 1470 vacant posts. Only 319 teachers were recruited. The new Govt after assuming power when urged the centre for one-time-relaxation, the Centre allowed saying, ‘As per information, provided by the State Govt of Tripura there are 12222 vacancies including 6276 under graduate teachers, elementary under 1-1-2018 for which state govt has been consistently requesting Teachers Recruitment Board, Tripura for selection of candidates. However, state doesn’t have that number of qualified candidates for the said vacancies’. The Govt himself said that huge vacancies are there".

"We are 791 TET qualified teachers who were hoping for recruitment, but seeing the notification, sky collapsed on our head. In TET-I only 180 have announced as vacant, whereas in last recruitment it was 6422. So, we want to know why such a confusion and less numbers of seats even after having that much of vacant posts?”, said the TET qualifiers.

“Same happened with TET-II’s 1470 vacant posts. Here also vacancy has downed at 315 whereas out of 1470 very limited seats were filled up. We have qualified TET after yearlong hardworks. We were hoping that we will be recruited shortly but now all it is seen that our recruitment with this minimum vacancies are not possible”.

Elementary posts jobs aspirants said that Govt earlier promised to merge the recruitments with new TET qualifiers and those who are already qualified, they do not need to sit in TET again.

Being passed in TET, in December TET the job aspirants didn’t sit as they were suggested by the department, ‘No need to sit on TET’, but now seeing the limited vacancies, resentments have brewed among the TET qualifiers unemployed youths.

TIWN always protested against “Relaxation” for recruitment as it would kill the backbone of Education setup, but the BJP Govt not only brought relaxation, but also not recruiting 791 TET qualified unemployed youths, whereas tall claims on “Quality Education” day-night is being propagated by the Education Minister Ratanlal Nath.

Notewortht, if case is filed in Court, the TET qualifiers will get their jobs surely and the “relaxation” will also be cancelled if it can be proven in court how with “lies” state govt managed the relaxation with “ill motives”.
