AGARTALA, March 5 (TIWN): Tripura indigenous regional party has slammed the Magisterial investigation report of the BJP Govt on Madhav Bari violence of January 8, 2019, demanded Judicial investigation for more satisfactory report. INPT leaders in a press conference on Tuesday evening said, the investigation and varied talks of SP and police department should be clarified. Addressing media, INPT General Secretary Jagadish Debbarma said, “At the very beginning after Madhav Bari violence took place on January 8, we clearly said, Magisterial investigation would not give justice and thus we demanded Judicial investigation. But, sadly, Tripura Govt turned deaf ears to our demand. Earlier, after the incident SP West Ajit Pratap Singh said that no police official was involved in firing on our youths and it was the agitators who held the firing. The police officer also claimed that the firing was done on the air but so far it has proven wrong. Thus for a neutral report, we still demand Judicial investigation”.

INPT President, Bijoy Kumar Hrangkhawl raised question, from the agitators side the ongoings were kept in tight control, but it was seen as if some civilians attempted to create communal violence in police attire. Such attempts and practice are very new in Tripura’s culture. The INPT leader further alerted the Govt to control the law and order and common people should not suffer for the govt’s own fault.

Both the INPT leaders referring the public property burning like issues and police firing, attack on ambulance demanded Judicial investigation.

After the Magisterial investigation report was revealed, Tripura Congress President Pradyot Manikya on Saturday hit the BJP Govt for taking action only against the SDPO and some lower ranked police officials, whereas the highest authority of the District, that is the SP is at ease.West District SP is Ajit Pratap Singh.

On January 8, 2019 while NESO organized a democratic protest at Madhav Bari in Jirania in protest against Citizenship Amendment Bill, the situation went out of control when few outsiders with BJP flags arrived the spot and also they burnt public properties. However Govt took no action either against the SP or against the hooligans belong to non-Tiprasa community, was suspected to create a communal disruption intentionally by ruling BJP.

On that time, police fired innocent agitators, but soon CM Biplab Deb and Minister NC Debbarma in a joint press meet announced that the agitators were anti-national, anti-social, whereas now ahead of election, Govt accepted that police were equally involved in that violence.

Pradyot Manikya also asked Chief Minister Biplab Deb and Revenue Minister NC Debbarma to apologize for calling Tiparasa as anti-national on January 12’s press conference and also asked to take action against SP Ajit Pratap Singh too.

Indeed except BJP, all the political parties demanded Judicial investigation in the incident, but due to some unknown, unexplained reason Judicial investigation was denied by the BJP-IPFT Govt.
