AGARTALA, March 2 (TIWN): After BJP Govt accepted Police’s mistake in Madhab Bari violence, Congress State President Pradyot Manikya raised question, “Which one is the actual mistake ? On 12th January in a press meet Home Minister Biplab Deb had called Citizenship Amendment Bill agitators as Anti-Social and they did the wrong things but today the Govt is saying police did the mistake. So clarify it first what was the actual mistake ?”Pradyot Manikya also said, “When opposition to other leaders commit any mistake, demand of resignation raises, but now what about Home Minister’s own mistake on Madhav Bari violence. The Home Ministry is holding by none other than Chief Minister Biplab Deb”.Pradyot Manikya also demanded, proper action must be taken against the police official who did the firing, recalling the opposition led "resignation" demand of Chief Minister Biplab Deb.

Noteworthy, after the violence talking about the Jirania violence, Biplab Deb almost gave certificate to police saying that police had fired below knee and one Sumit Debbarma who was injured his case is also no way can be said police fired him on his shoulder intentionally. However, we have ordered for Magisterial Investigation in this case and within minimum time the inquiry to be completed”.

Director General of Police (Law and Order) Rajiv Singh said: "Some tribal youths while demonstrating against the Citizenship (Amendment) Bill turned violent at Madhab Bari in western Tripura on Tuesday. The police, Tripura State Rifles and CRPF troopers, after taking all necessary steps were unable to control the mob. The police then opened fire injuring six tribal youths, two of them seriously."

Minister Mebar Kumar Jamatia said, such incidents proves that IPFT is a democratic party among all regional parties (targeting NESO and INPT).

On January 12, a successful bandh was observed by non-BJP parties demanding resignation of CM Biplab Deb. Their 4-point demands of the strike were : 1)    Resignation of Biplab Deb, 2)    Judicial investigation under one sitting judge of High Court, 3)    Compensation of at least 25 lakhs to the police firing victims or one Govt job in their families, 4)    Police is preparing for FIR and punishment to the agitators. Those cases should be  immediately cancelled.
