AGARTALA, March 1 (TIWN): Once again it has proven what happens when whole power is given to forces and the necessity of a tight control of using bullets to stop misuse of power. Tripura police have proven they misused the power by shooting innocent agitators and murder attempt on ambulance carried bullet hit 6 youths. The Madhab Bari incident took place on January 8, 2019 when police started shooting on innocents and few non-Tiprasa with BJP flag arrived that place and started to burn public properties. Instead of standing with the innocents 99% media houses in Tripura favoured police claiming, police acted to control the situation. One newspaper wrote, “Police have done that what they could not do in CPI-M’s time’. But the magisterial investigation clearly stated that police played dirty role on that day. In the Assembly, Chief Minister Biplab Deb has condemned the role of police and also confirmed punishment to the police officials. Biplab Deb said, “Police personnel engaged for public safety cannot disrupt peace”.

It was said in his speech that enough numbers of police were deployed, Section 144 were imposed and then how come such lawless condition created at there.

But with a setback, no criticism about the hooligans who burnt the properties of public, attempted to create a communal tension, nothing was said about them, neither SP West Ajit Pratap’s role was question, whereas he was present during the violence.

Earlier, there were cases filed against INPT and other political party leaders.
