AGARTALA, Feb 25 (TIWN): Shortcut entry of BJP using the backdoor of politics by its alliance with separatist IPFT with fake promise of Tipraland and creating division in Congress is now worrying back the BJP here again after 11 months of Govt formation as a vast numbers of ex-Congress activists have joined Congress leaving BJP on Sunday. Also there are possible chances that the BJP MLAs, Ministers with Congress background were invited by Rahul Gandhi to join again in Congress and the former party leaders will be welcomed back with full honour, said high level source. In case of IPFT, there would be big blow waiting for BJP after the Lok Sabha election, even though two of the IPFT Ministers are silence against BJP, generating mass resentment among indigenous voters, trolled since after January 8, 2019 when 6 indigenous youths left injured critically in police firing. On Sunday, a vast number of BJP members including pristha-pramukhas of BJP from 51 booths have joined Congress in the presence of former Congress MLA Gopal Roy.
The joining programme of Congress was held at Chief Minister Biplab Deb’s own constituency 9-No Banamalipur.
Leaving BJP, the new Congress leaders said, even though CPI-M Govt was successfully defeated by BJP, but the BJP Govt has failed to work for public-welfare.
Out of the joiners 272 were pristha-pramukhas, a major setback in Banamalipur constituency.
Former MLA Gopal Roy also accepted that due to Congress’s weakness, the supporters joined BJP, but now once again all have been united against BJP’s JUMLA-raj.
Now talks are on air that Ex-CM Samir Barman to join back Congress
Congress had suspended its former Chief Minister Samir Barman from the party in April, 2017 with the charges of 'indisciplinary' activities against the party. Since then Barman has been close to BJP, whereas shortly he would return Congress.
Samir Barman was also the Congress President for long, but allegation came many times against Barman for betraying Congress and to share dais with Trinamool.
Then Barman also submitted a nomination in 2018 election as independent candidate whereas he withdrawn the nomination later.
However, from Congress it was unofficially said that whatever is needed to strengthen the party it will be done and if ex-Congress leaders want to join back, they will be welcome with garlands. Samit Barman’s son Sudip Barman is a BJP Minister.
