AGARTALA, Feb 23 (TIWN): Tension erupted as Supreme Court of India has ordered to remove people who are living in Forest areas less than 75 years. The order was given by SC after central Govt placed the report on Forest and Wild Life welfare excluding any suggestion from Tribal Welfare dept on the reaction of a writ petition filed for Wildlife’s favour. Addressing in a press conference, MP Jitendra Chaudhury describing the upcoming serious crisis situation nationwide said, “Modi Govt since the beginning acted against SC, ST and other backward classes. To snatch their natural rights, the Modi Govt either directly or indirectly has worked always. On February 20, Supreme Court has declared verdict on a writ petition filed for Forest Act and Wild Rights. Under the UPA Govt era Central Govt on the basis of Left Front and other democratic parties’ protests implemented Forest-Rights-Act-2006, according to which the indigenous people living under nature (forests) for decades after decades accepted as the inheritor of the forest land".

"But now after the verdict, total over 42 lakh applications have been applied till now in land demand and only 18 lakhs were accepted according to the last report, as the new act said that 75 years old paper and proof should be placed in land-rights favour, whereas it is not possible for people to show practically in Tripura.Since Kings era, such things were not taken care. SC has asked states to submit action-taken-report which means through forces these people will be outcast. It will cause Earthquake nationally”, he added.

MP further announced, CPI-M to file review-petition in SC asking the State Govt also to take initiative.

MP Jitendra Chaudhury further said, the petition was filed by none other than but corporate psychopaths and few corrupt forest officers.

The CPI-M MP also blamed the Modi Govt for convincing SC for the new act against the Forest area’s people.

“Govt didn’t put any lawyer for the Forest land’s people and on the last hearing the environment dept’s lawyer was absent. SC found, Govt is reluctant and then pronounced the final verdict”, he said.

“The Modi Govt didn’t even consult with the Tribal Welfare Dept, rather Ministry of Environment and Forest (MOEF), which has been always against the Forest Rights Act 2006 was sent at the Court to lead. No lawyer was also put in the forest people’s favour. Thus, it means, Modi didn’t kill these people (Forest residents) directly but indirectly”, MP Jitendra Chaudhury added.
