AGARTALA, Jan 3 (TIWN): CPI-M’s farmers’ wing Khet ‘All India Kishan Sabha’ has claimed on Sunday that across India farmers regardless their political identities have been united against Modi Govt’s wrong policy for the farmers.

Addressing media here, Kishan Sabha State Secretary Narayan Kar said, “Farmers are no more ready to commit suicide, but they have united in protest in last 2 years. Since two years the movement of farmers have been sparked up. Recently held protest Kishan-Sangharsh-Coordination-Committee led by farmers at Delhi is the example”.

“Farmers realized that they alone can’t face the problems and thus joining the movement vis Leftists unions. Workers and Farmers are holding the protests together. Both the sections are the pillars of our country’s economy”, said Narayan Kar.

“The recently announced Assembly Election results are the example of public resentment against the Govt and Tripura has also been effected with this protest movement. Huge resentment is here too against the BJP-IPFT Govt”, he said.

“Earlier in CPI-M’s time Tripura topped in MGNREGA mandays but now the rural economy is collapsed. Farmers are bound to commit suicide, which never happened earlier”, Kar told media.

“Today hunger has not only gripped rural areas but also the town areas. Now, data says that only 33 days of work was held and also wages are pending”, he said.
