CPI-M to kick off massive protest against Citizenship Amendment Bill on Monday : Huge numbers of of agitators from all Communities likely to stage Protest

AGARTALA, Feb 3 (TIWN): After Tripura’s Royal scion Pradyot Manikya held massive rally with 50000 indigenous people against Citizenship Amendment Bill, CPI-M now to stage another unique protest where not only indigenous people but non-Tiprasa from all communities including religious minority section of people also will stage protest against Citizenship Amendment Bill. The protest to be held on Monday in front of Rabindra Bhawan premise of Agartala. The main orator of the programme will be former Chief Minister, the present Opposition Leader Manik Sarkar. When CPI-M is preparing for a massive protest against Citizenship Bill, Tripura Chief Minister Biplab Deb has opposed such agitations against Citizenship Bill. He raised question, whereas the Citizenship Bill was implemented only for Northeast ? About NRC also, Deb told the people same and asserted further that Modi Govt is actually working for the Northeast than Congress’s Govt’s time. Noteworthy, the opposition parties in Tripura earlier said that the controversial bill’s introduction ahead of Lok Sabha election is itself was an irresponsible movement of the Modi Govt.

In case of Tripura around fifteen hundred foreigners were detained in last year and due to increasing migrations Tripura’s culture and tradition of the indigenous people is at risk and unemployment problem is on peak. 

All indigenous, regional parties came together opposing Citizenship Bill in Tripura.

A massive protest rally at the Khumlwng on Wednesday and various other protests took place in the state along with whole Northeast.

Except BJP, all the political parties have opposed Citizenship Bill.

The Citizenship Amendment Bill that seeks to remove hurdles in eligible migrants from six minority groups from Bangladesh, Pakistan and Afghanistan from getting Indian citizenship is being strongly opposed across Northeast India. It has also been opposed by political parties including the Congress and Trinamool Congress.
