AGARTALA, Feb 2 (TIWN): Tripura Chief Minister Biplab Deb has targeted Tripura’s nationalist section of people claiming that they are confusing masses by talking against the Citizenship Bill. Biplab Deb was addressing in a party programme at Agartala when he said so. He raised question, whereas the Citizenship Bill was implemented only for Northeast ? About NRC also, Deb told the people same and asserted further that Modi Govt is actually working for the Northeast than Congress’s Govt’s time. Noteworthy, the opposition parties in Tripura earlier said that the controversial bill’s introduction ahead of Lok Sabha election is itself was an irresponsible movement of the Modi Govt. In case of Tripura around fifteen hundred foreigners were detained in last year and due to increasing migrations Tripura’s culture and tradition of the indigenous people is at risk and unemployment problem is on peak. All indigenous, regional parties came together opposing Citizenship Bill in Tripura. A massive protest rally at the Khumlwng on Wednesday and various other protests took place in the state along with whole Northeast.

Except BJP, all the political parties have opposed Citizenship Bill.

The sentiment erupted deeply after Chief Minister Biplab Deb led Home Dept today was exposed after footage revealed Jirania violence of January 9, 2019 was instigated by Tripura Police led by SP West Ajit Pratap Singh and other high officials of the police headquarter.

Earlier, BJP-IPFT Govt had blamed CPI-M and INPT and against indigenous supporting regional parties and student organization INPT and TSF, Tripura Police had registered cases against 500 Tiprasa youths in Ranir Bazar and Jirania police stations, who are members of INPT and TSF in Jirania’s Madhabbari police firing incident. 'Against TSF Secretary Bishu Debbarma, President Upendra Debbarma, leader Sunil Debbarma and around 500 TSF students the case was registered. Case No-4/19 under IPC 148/149 / 333/ 153/ 307/ 436 427 is under investigation', daily newspaper Tripra Darpan reported.

But till now, which police officials were involved in this firing on students, no clarification yet has come in this regard, whereas there are demand from regional parties for suspension of SP West AJit Pratap Singh who led the whole firing episode without announcement. NESO, IPFT Tipraha calling press conference has condemned the whole episode and almost all pollical parties have condemned the overall incident including looting of shops, setting fire on houses whereas police firing was on the top list of condemnation. There was also a charge additionally imposed National Highway Act & Arms Act 27.

Earlier, on January 19, with a major blow to Chief Minister Biplab Deb’s visit to Dasarambari and Madhabbari, locals didn’t accepted him and his team to step inside the area of Dasharam Bari where the actual incident of Police led brutal violence took place on January 8.

The massive rally with black flags led by Tiprasa is haunting BJP’s indigenous vote banks ahead of Lok Sabha election.
