Police Brutality, Pratima’s Criminal Empire, Unemployment, Poverty grips Tripura : 10 months old BJP Govt under Biplab turned massive failure, ‘shock’ to Democracy

AGARTALA, Jan 16 (TIWN): Tripura’s present Drug Mafia led Lawless situation worst in State’s history. Anarchy, indiscipline, clashes, attacks and immature, corrupt leadership led by BJP Govt has shocked Tripura in last 10 months. Promising a ‘Hira’ for Tripura the BJP came in power but after assuming power, the Govt started walking exactly in the opposite direction of what it had promised. From fund slashing for ADC to depriving beneficiaries from allowances, increasing cess, VAT on fuel to increasing vehicle fares, stopping recruitment, cancelling existing recruitment BJP Govt in all means have frustrated the hopes of public. In this situation, state turned a narcotic den under misruling of BJP General Secretary Pratima Bhomwik and the fresh charge against Pratima Bhowmik and other BJP leaders were brought by none other than BJP MLA Surajit Datta himself.

State’s law and order is peril, whereas statewide attacks on opposition are uncountable since the Govt changed.

Till now Home Dept could not say who issued the firing order at Jirania which left five Tiprasa youths critically injured, neither any action against police of West SP Ajit Pratap Singh or TSR personnel were taken.

Police’s illegal firing had hit the NESO agitators from behind, proving that police were running after the agitators. In democracy helpless people who were staging protests for their rights were brutally injured just because the protest was against ruling Govt. Police also didn’t take any action against BJP miscreants who had burnt houses of people and violated the whole situation by unnecessary entering in Jirania with BJP flag from outside. On the same day, at Agartala during CPI-M’s strike, Pratima Bhowmik, Rajib Bhattacharjee and other BJP activists in mafia style forced shops, shopping complexes, super markets like Big Bazar, Metro Bazar to open shutters and the same was tried to apply at Jirania, but police acted against the innocents Tiprasa agitators instead of the ruling party members.

But what surprised people is that till day Chief Minister Biplab Deb who is also the Home Minister didn’t visit Madhabbari, neither met the victims. Moreover, even after all non-BJP parties demand of Judicial investigation in the police firing incident, Govt didn’t order Judicial investigation, rather Govt had shutdown internet connectivity for long 4 days.

On the day of the incident almost all the political parties leaders had met the GB hospital victims except Tripura Home Minister cum Chief Minister Biplab Deb.INPT, IPFT, IPFT(Tipraha), CPI-M all leaders have rushed to GB hospital after brutal attack on Tipura youths at Jirania police firing incident, but after ordering firing on innocents, Biplab Deb didn’t pay any visit at there.

Instead of taking action against police, with a major setback for indigenous supporting regional parties and student organization INPT and TSF under Biplab Deb led Police Dept have registered cases against 500 Tiprasa youths in Ranir Bazar and Jirania police stations, who are members of INPT and TSF in Jirania’s Madhabbari police firing incident. Against TSF Secretary Bishu Debbarma, President Upendra Debbarma, leader Sunil Debbarma and around 500 TSF students the case was registered. Case No-4/19 under IPC 148/149 / 333/ 153/ 307/ 436 427 is under investigation. But till now, which police officials were involved in this firing on students, no clarification yet has come in this regard, whereas there are demand from regional parties for suspension of SP West AJit Pratapa Singh who led the whole firing episode without announcement. NESO, IPFT Tipraha calling press conference has condemned the whole episode and almost all pollical parties have condemned the overall incident including looting of shops, setting fire on houses whereas police firing was on the top list of condemnation.  There was also a charge additionally imposed National Highway Act & Arms Act 27.

Media houses are under sever attack of the ruling BJP. Attacks upon press and media persons have been continuing in BJP era and now the target was one Kokborok language base local TV channel's young journalist after he raised public issues in his “Khumpui”, channel, which went against the BJP-IPFT Govt’s buttering propaganda. The journalist has been identified as Prasenjit Tripura. He was beaten by BJP miscreants at Belonia. The miscreants are BJP-mandal workers of Nivendranagar in Belonia. Not only this, after beating Prasenjit, the BJP goons threatened the villagers to make fabricated allegations against Prasenjit. The news was against local BJP leader Kanu Debnath who cheated villagers and after taking many rubber gardens from the villagers, now not giving the deserve amount to the journalist. After that Prasenjit was invited to cover a programme and then beaten him heavily. Local people have however, exposed BJP’s intrigue and stood beside the journalist. Villagers also saved Prasenjit from the attacks.

Unemployment problems, poverty have gripped state, whereas Chief Minister Biplab Deb was exposed for enjoying luxurious palace at Delhi.
