AGARTALA, Jan 6 (TIWN): Slamming BJP National President Amit Shah for his claim on Law and Order is in stable condition and no attack on opposition has been taken place in Tripura, CPI-M State Secretary Gautam Das recalled various attacks on CPI-M in last 10 months of BJP Govt including attack on opposition MLA and top leaders. Addressing media at Melarmath Party Office Gautam Das said, “Instead of talking about Vision Document and pre-poll promises of BJP, Amit Shah has delivered all lies to fool people again. Before election, he himself promised that from march 4th, 7th Pay Commission will be given to employees, house-to-house jobs, works will be increased, 2000 rupees of social pension. People were expecting Amit Shah’s statement on those issues, but he easily skipped them. Rather he talked about law and order and claimed, under Biplab Deb’s Govt law and order has been established”.

Disclosing data of crime records under BJP Govt, Gautam Das said, “Till December 31st from March 3rd, total 1322 male were physically attacked, 152 women were attacked physically totaling 1474. Among them many were serious injured. Total 198 were and have been under treatment still in hospitals of Tripura and other states’ hospitals. Total 156 people’s houses were fully burnt, 1344 houses were vandalized, 230 shops were looted, 163 shops were burnt, Fishery/ Poultry / Botany were looted in 44 numbers, 10 ponds were poisoned, 38 rubber gardens were destroyed, 18 burnt, car/ bikes were destroyed of 74 people".

“This is the certificate of law and order amid no arrest. 5 CPI-M activists were killed. Everyday murders, attacks on common men, journalists held everyday but no action from police”, said Das.

On Saturday, BJP National President Amit Shah had claimed that Tripura’s law and order is stable. But after 10 months of passage tortures on oppositions, every night ahead of by-elections people’s houses were attacked, burnt, domestic cattle were killed, Ex-Minister Bhanulal Saha was slapped by his party goons when he went in booth as polling agent, CPI-M State Secretary Gautam Das was attacked on road and he was stretched from his car, but Amit Shah told media that law and order has developed. Also he talked long on ‘Anti-Drug movement’ which was laughed by Gautam Das in this counterattack press conference.

Whereas in 2017 total only 3,894 cases had been registered in various police stations, in 2018 the number has spiked up 5,663 triggering a nation-level tension on Tripura’s law and order.

125 kidnapping of girls recorded in last year from April to November. In 2017 the number was 81. A sharp increase also recorded in miscellaneous cases which from 2017’s 584 cases, increased to 1,027 cases and the number of non-IPC cases also rose from 155 to 593.There was also a spike in the murder and road accidents numbers.
