AGARTALA, Jan 4 (TIWN): Via confirmed sources in Law and Education departments, it was known that 36 contractual employees who are working as contractual teachers in diploma colleges might be terminated after Govt will recruit 65 fresh engineers (not by New Police but by Direct Recruitment). Instead of taking interviews in written form and videographed viva tests, the Govt has announced to directly recruit 65 teachers fresh on “urgent basis”. But when through press conference Tripura Law Minister Ratanlal Nath said that on the basis of urgent need in Tripura diploma colleges, 65 engineers will be recruited, but in reality already 26 teachers are in contractual posts which the Govt has decided to curb. A Govt order said, “The council of Ministers approved the proposal of the department of the cabinet memorandum, further advised that contract teachers to be discontinued under regular recruitment (via direct recruitment) and recruitment rules may be “amended” by new Recruitment Policy”. In Vision Document Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley had promised in written form that BJP after voted to power will regularize all contractual employees, but till day within 10 months of BJP Govt at least terminated over thousand of temporary employees.

It has been known that a group of contractual lecturers are working as a backbone of Diploma level technical institution for a quite long period. In the year 2010, 2014 and 2016 the contractual lecturer engagement was conducted by the previous CPI-M Govt. of Tripura for the smooth running of the academic classes of diploma level technical institutions in the state Tripura.

The total number of contractual lecturers presently working in the various diploma level technical institutions is of 36 (thirty six).

But now, after the Govt order was passed it has been known that all of these 36 (thirty six) nos of contractual lecturers will be discontinued /sacked from their service by taking a new number or batch of 65 lecturers for the Diploma level technical institutions in the state of Tripura.

This information was collected this from a very reliable source from the Department of Higher Education.

In a latest held press conference of the Education Minster Ratanlal Nath regarding recruitment of a new number or batch of 65 lecturers for the Diploma level technical institutions in the state of Tripura, where he mentioned about the existing 36 (thirty six) nos of contractual lecturers but never mentioned about the discontinuation/sacking of 36 employees service after taking a new number or batch of 65 lecturers.

Education minister had also mentioned that the pervious Govt. had build colleges but doesn’t give teacher to these diploma level technical institutions after the year 2013 but the previous Govt. has also conducted a TPSC Advt.14/2014, and TPSC Advt. 05/2016, for a number of 20 and 65 lecturer post respectively for these diploma level technical institutions which has been canceled by the present state Govt.

Thus, it’s a matter of concern for the existing contractual employees as BJP Govt’s next JUMLA-strike likely to hit them.
