CPI-M State Committee condemns Salema attack, 8 injured

AGARTALA, Dec 27 (TIWN): In a brutal attack of BJP, at least 8 CPI-M activists were injured critically in Kamalpur subdivision of Tripura.

State Committee of CPI-M has condemned the attack, which didn’t even leave women and old people.

In a press noted, referring Samema area incident of Kamalpur subdivision CPI-M State Committee member Haripada Saha said, “Since BJP Govt was empowered with power, across the state violence has gone to the extreme level. This attacked Salema Office was also vandalized by BJP long back. Today around 200 CPI-M supporters including men / women gathered at the party office and redecorated it with their own hands. All of a sudden at around 12 noon, around 25 BJP goons rushed to the party office and with Bharat-Mata-Ki-Joy slogan vandalized the party office, physically attacked the party activists left 7 to 8 CPI-M activists injured”.

Seriously injured persons are : 1) Ramani Mohon Das, 2) Fanilal Das, 3) Sanjit Ghosh, 4)Vidya Debbarma, 5) Harinanada Debbarma, 6) Sushil Das, 7) Biswajit Ghosh, 8) Bishananda Debbarma.

All of the are now admitted in Dhalai District hospital.

MP Jitendra Chaudhury, CPI-M State Secretary Gautam Das, Kamalpur Subdivisional Secretary Anjan Das rushed to the hospital and talked to the injured persons.

State Committee in the press brief also said, the attack was pre-planned, where police were present, but didn’t do anything to save the CPI-M supporters.

The incident took place after CPI-M had hoisted its party flag in Kamalpur Salema office, which was allegedly captured by ruling BJP since the day of election result.The party office was vandalized, looted and captured by BJP and locked from outside on March 3rd, the election result day.Today CPI-M have reoccupied the party office by breaking the lock and hoisting party flag. CPI-M leaders led by MP Jitendra Chaudhury, Party Secretary Gautam Das visited hospital to meet the injured activists.Talking to the victims, they said, “A group of BJP goons led by Jiban Debnath forced attacks upon us. The team was comprised of 15 members”.So far no arrest was done of the miscreants. CPI-M has demanded proper action and arrest of the culprits.

In separate attacks, CPI-M families were brutally attacked across the state.

One day ahead of Municipal Election, statewide attacks upon opposition parties are continuing with break. At Kamalpur CPI-M supporter Shankar Das’s family was severely attacked by BJP miscreants on Tuesday latenight, whereas at West Noabari’s Lanka Para CPI-M activist Pintu Das’s home was not only attacked but his wife and daughter’s gold earings, bangles were snatched. His old parents were injured in the attack and like previous incidents this time also no arrest was done of the miscreants. Puppet role of Tripura Police has hit the law and order of the state across and now after attacking CPI-M leaders, the BJP has targeted the CPI-M families to stop them from going to the booths in this upcoming poll on tomorrow. 

The unending tortures upon CPI-M is not new but mercilessly continuing under corrupt Chief Minister Biplab Deb, whom national media has exposed on yesterday for wasting public money for luxurious flat at Delhi.
