BJP’s puppet police : More CPI-M candidates were forced to withdraw nominations today

AGARTALA, Dec 7 (TIWN): A total undemocratic Govt in Tripura, using police machinery for murdering of democracy everyday. CPI-M leaders, activists today has all of a sudden gheraoed the Police Headquarter as more numbers of candidates were bound to withdraw their nominations today at Udaipur, even after CPI-M leaders on yesterday met SP Gomati A R Reddy at there asking for security of those candidates.

The gherao continued for hours in front of the Police HQ.

Addressing media Badal Chaudhury said, “The way our candidates are being forced to withdraw nominations and till now attempts are going on to force our rest of the candidates to withdraw nominations today, it’s dangerous for democracy”.

“They are not even leaving women from their attacks. Police have to maintain the law and order and secure our candidates”, said Badal Choudhury.

CPI-M leaders then met Police DGP A K Shula following the gherao.

“In Santir Bazar all the 5 candidates faced attacks and were bound to leave houses after they submitted nominations. We have asked the police to assure the security of the candidates. Moreover, release of arrested persons were unexpected”, Badal Choudhury said.

As the police stopped all vehicles on that area during the protest, Badal Choudhury said, “CPI-M is a democratic party. We never prefer public suffering, but unnecessarily this way was blocked aimed to malign our image”.
