AGARTALA, Nov 28 (TIWN): CPI-M MP Jitendra Chaudhury has slammed state police for their biased role to take action against anti-social elements. Addressing in a press conference the MP said, "Such ongoing attacks will then only decrease when police will take immediate action and arrest the miscreants". Jitendra Chaudhury along with MLA Badal Choudhury, leader Narayan Kar, Manik Dey met DGP A K Shukla and Additional DGP Rajiv Singh asking for a peaceful environment for the oppositions in the upcoming Municipality Election and to make the poll totally rigging free. "Election doesn't mean only to submit nominations but the candidates must be allowed to do campaigning, they must be allowed to go in polling centres. We are bound to say this because the ongoing issues are not at all natural but all are abnormal. In whole India such incident never happened that over half of the seats have left vacant. Not only in houses the leaders were threatened to resign but in day time during office hours they were attacked. By force their signatures, resignations were taken. Violence also held in Tripura earlier, but under BJP ruling the level of violence are just uncontrolled. Thus, we demand police must take their actions in unbiased manner without any consideration to any kind of criminal. Police must not observe the election just as a common law and order issue but should take active part so that people can practice their democratic rights".

With the deteriorating law and order condition of Tripura, opposition CPI-M leader comprised of MP Jitendra Chaudhury, MLA Badal Choudhury, Manik Dey, Narayan Kar met DGP A.K.Sukla and Additional DGP Rajiv Singh. Addressing in a press conference, Badal Choudhury said, “The situation across Tripura is known by all. How riggings were done in the last Panchayat Election and how the candidates were beaten, attacked when they attempted to submit nominations, it’s known to all. Just like Dukli block across many blocks such attacks were held and maximum candidates could not submit their nominations. We want police must now take neutral role so that the opposition can go through the election without any fear”.

Badal Chaudhury also has called for neutral role of state media and to raise voice.
