AGARTALA, Nov 14 (TIWN): With a major revelation, Queen-Pineapple selling / buying and profit rates have remained very minimum this year in compare to other years and farmers those who cultivated Queen Pineapple trusting BJP Govt are now devastated, unable to sell products at minimum support prices as State Govt is no more buying pineapples. Opposition CPI-M has exposed how in the name of Queen-Pineapple-Utsav at Kolkata, Tripura's few officials toured Bengal and other places under a 'luxurious' trip, whereas from whole Tripura only 10 tons of pineapples were bought by the Govt. Only from Kamalpur at first lot, the fruits were brought and throughout the State farmers left devastated. Only from Kamalpur, pineapples were bought by Tripura Govt whereas throughout the state Govt didn't take any initiative to buy items.

Queen Pineapple earlier also used to go outside the State but the previous Govt didn't advertise the fruits-outgoing and as a result, unnecessary state's funds were not at all wasted. Another allegation brought by the Leftist leader is when Biplab Deb is boasting that at 1700 rupees rice grains will be  bought from farmers, but the production price is much above than that when Govt is not giving any aid to the farmers.  

Mocking at BJP Govt's fake boasting about queen pineapple, CPI-M leader Narayan Kar said, "Will Chief Minister Biplab Deb say now, how far profit was done from Queen Pineapple?""In our time (CPI-M time) not only in other states, but also queen pineapple were sent at abroad and we bought more products than them. If they bought prouducts of 10 metric ton in more price, then also how much their advertizment had cost it should be  answere. I guarantee, it was a loss ! In this regard, BJP Govt is a Govt of advertizments", Kar told media further suggesting BJP Govt to come on the ground and to meet people. 

During Queen Pineapple launching, it was highlighted in media by boasting Biplab Deb saying, it was Biplab Deb who personally took the initiative to export the pineapple which is famous in India and neighbouring countries, urged the people to grow more pineapples and jackfruits as both are being produced in Tripura with a rich quality due to the climatic condition, soil and the environment.

The Chief Minister on that time said Prime Minister Narendra Modi was keen to double the farmers' income, but now instead of doubling, farmers are unable to sell their products. Till now, Tripura is unable to make its place in the largest pineapple grower state. 

Queen Pineapple had been announced on June 7, 2018 as the state fruit of Northeast state Tripura by President of India Ram Nath Kovind. President announced this when he was addressing at Rabindra Bhawan in Agartala during ‘State Reception’ programme.
