AGARTALA, Nov 14 (TIWN): When Statewide crisis has hit the poor, joblessness is leading crisis with tensions of 7 lakhs unemployed youths, Tripura BJP Govt and Chief Minister Biplab Deb has been busy in self advertisement. CPI-M has slammed the BJP Govt as a "Govt of Ads". Even Durga Puja could not bring smiles to the poor families as the much hyped 2 days Durga Puja works payments have been pending to maximum workers. Ahead of Durga Puja Tripura Finance Dept had decided to increase numbers of beneficiaries for 2-days works during Durga Puja. While announcing this puja works, Deputy CM cum Finance Minister Jishnu Debbarma said, "Since 6 years, 2 lakhs 26 thousand families were getting two mandays work during Durga Puja. This year we have increased the number 1 lakh and thus beneficiaries numbers stands 3 lakhs 26 thousand. It's a huge hike of 41 %. As an example if in a village 100 people were getting works, now the number of beneficiaries will be 144 people. 11 crores 55 lakh 70 thousand rupees will cost and 42 % more rural families will get work".

It can be noted here that CPI-M Govt also gave 2 days Puja work to poor families but BJP Govt has increased the numbers of beneficiaries, but till now payments are delayed.

At the same time various subsidies are halted, social pensions been stopped. As a result festival remained gloom for the poor people.

It can be recalled that when starvation has gripped across Tripura, unemployment reached almost 40%, while inaugurating Durga Puja pandal at Melaghar on October 15, Tripura Chief Minister Biplab Deb said "Nothing is called poverty. Instead poverty is a mental disease".CM also said that only drug, ganja smugglers are now suffering from poverty.

But when state is suffering from various problems, CM is busy in self publicity. It has been known from various sources that Biplab Deb not allowing Depts' Ministers for any kind of publicity and that's how from Education Minister to Sports Minister all are sidelined by Biplab Deb and he doesn't allow Departmental Ministers to speak before media.
