AGARTALA, Nov 12 (TIWN): From "Dashami Ghat Yatra" to "Kali Puja celebrations" on roads have been torturing the common men of Tripura in heavy traffic jams, whereas traffic police found standing inactive, fueled by very minimum numbers of traffic men on the roads. After Dashami, Carnivals which didn't spare even ambulance to pass on National Highway, now with Kali Puja's ending Yatra hit the town areas of the state which left big buses also without movement are crippling the roadways allover the state. Hence, Agartala city is the biggest victim of such jams. On Monday thousands of vehicle couldn't move for hours as the city remained paralyzed since morning. Patient parties and Airport / Railway Station goers faced the highest jolts on the National Highway and other routes. The jam started from A D Nagar area and continued till the last corners of the city. Due to various political rallies in the working day, soon the jam started worsening.

Talking to media, various office goers said, such traffic jam excuse would not save them as a major "excuse", but everyday even after coming out of home in time, jams hit the office goers.

The jam basically fueled from the Nagerjala-Battala area with a huge space has been occupied by under-construction flyover project at there for years. BJP Govt is not taking any step to complete the flyover by fixing the alleged 'faults' in the pillars were found, which has already ended the deadline of the flyover.

Today in maximum places it was seen that common men are playing traffic men's role, showing signs of pass or stop, as very numbers of traffic men are very less given on roads. Rallies of BJP, BMS had worsened the situation further.

With "corruption in construction" allegation, the first flyover's inauguration is being delayed in Tripura. Due to the delay in the inauguration, there is no relief for the travelers yet from massive traffic jam. Whether the flyover will be inaugurated or not it has triggered question.

Based on the media reports, public are whispering if the construction is not appropriate then why doesn't the new Govt break the flyover and build a new one ? But since 7 months of Govt formation, there is no initiative to solve the issue. Agartala flyover was a dream project of Rs. 300 crores, which is also the first flyover of Tripura covering capital city's Drop Gate area to Fire Brigade Chowmuhani and another route towards Melarmath.

Reacting against the media reports based on Agartala flyover, which claimed that the construction and project is under scanner and people will die under it, Ex-PWD Minister Badal Choudhury said, "Our Govt created the flyover not to do corruption but to manage the daily traffic jams".

Moreover, a big pipe from the under-construction flyover has been collapsed on Sunday evening, which raised question about the construction quality of Agartala flyover.  This pipe was however set on the walls and has no link with the base-construction, but due to the ongoing controversy regarding flyover propagated by ruling BJP Govt and few media, heavy tensions have gripped the locals of Agartala. T

This would be the first flyover of Tripura, which was constructed to manage the increasing traffic jams in the capital city Agartala at the cost of 300 crores. The flyover was to be inaugurated in 2018-January but due to election, the construction was delayed.Since BJP Govt came in power, it has stopped the whole work which is also leading the half done flyover towards destruction.
