AGARTALA, Nov 9 (TIWN): Tripura Chief Minister Biplab Deb on Thursday while addressing in Netaji Subhas Vidyaniketan H.S. School in Agartala claimed that this school's culture has similarities with Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh(RSS).
"I have been an active member of RSS since my childhood. From there I learnt not to clap after any performance and here also same culture is there. No student is clapping".
"It's Indian culture I adopted from RSS that all are equal. Do not cheer / motivate a single performer with clap", CM told students.
CM further said he is happy that Netaji School has kept that culture.
About Netaji School :Netaji Subhash Vidyaniketan was established in 1948. The founding patrons of the school were inspired by the ideologies of the Indian freedom fighter Netajit Subash Chandra Bose. The first secretary of the Managing Committee was Late Gopi BallavSaha. The first headmaster of the school was Mr. Satinath Bharadwaj. The school catered to the young children of families that had migrated to Agartala after the partition of India. Subsequently, NSV flourished under the leadership of Mr. Hirendranath Nandi. Mr. Nandi was an educationist and a devout Netajian who devoted his life in turning the school from a small primary school to a center of excellence in school-level education in the north-eastern region of India. For his contributions to education and teaching, Mr. Nandi was conferred the President of India Gold Medal.
