AGARTALA, Nov 7 (TIWN): In first time in Tripura’s history in decades, State is suffering from cash crunch as Biplab Deb’s 8 months misrule caused serious damage to State economy as MGNREGA to various Centrally funded projects came to standstill, poor economy hit the businessmen in capital city Agartala as market till now remained gloomy.Talking to TIWN, fruit sellers in Gol Bazar area said, "In Durga puja anyhow the fruits were sold as club members took items but unexpectedly in Kali puja there is no customer till now in the market. In last years since 2 days ahead of Kali puja customers used to rush to the market day-night".The sellers further added, "Today is the last day. If can not sell our items, only God knows what will happen".TIWN observation in the Gol Bazar market was as "lack of customers" and the market was totally depressed. "People don't have money, market is down. We also faced losses in Durga puja", said the fire cracker sellers. In other subdivisions, the condition is more pathetic.
Rainy weather effect : Profit downed than the expectation at Matabari in Udaipur due to the rainy weather on the occasion of Diwali, has tensed the businessmen. Food shopkeepers are the worst sufferers in the rainy atmosphere. At Matabari, Udaipur also businessmen are undergoing losses. The mela-businessmen who had set their stalls across the temple premise for the fair were resented since the morning.
Specially fire cracker markets remained less excited in compare to the other works. Survey says, due to MGNREGA work-less condition, govt projects stopped rural economy has been totally collapsed.
