AGARTALA, Nov 6 (TIWN): Bengal, Tripura are celebrating auspicious Deepabali (Kali Puja) on November 7. Along with Tripura other Northeast states are also celebrating Diwali festival in full enthusiasm. In Agartala and other corners of the state music, songs are being played with loud speaker. Traffic movements have been restricted in busy areas of the towns to control the traffic jams. In Udaipur Chief Minister Biplab Deb is scheduled to inaugurate the Diwali festival for the year. Apart from temple, clubs from house-to-house celebrations are going on in full wave. Some people use decorated light candles, some decorated diya or clay lamps, and other decorative lights and put them in their windows for the festival. All celebrate this occasion in their own way. Traditionally 'earthen lamps' with cotton wicks and oil to light up the dark night were used by the peoples but as people moves towards the modernity and in temptation of saving time, people generally opt for Chinese lights to decorate and lighted their houses.Besides, people celebrate the day lighting fire crackers. Children rushed to the markets along with parents to buy fire crackers and crowds have thronged to sweet shops, markets.
As the administration has instructed not to use high decibel crackers, people were observed lightening several other fire crackers which are of decibel.
Moreover people , specially women have rushed to the gold outlets on the auspicious occasion of Dhanteras. Jewellers also lure customers with attractive offers during the festive season.
