AGARTALA, Sep 15 (TIWN): TIWN condemns State Election Commission’s failure to conduct free & fair Election as majority of Panchayat Election seats were won UNCONTESTED as 90% opposition party candidates were prevented to file nomination papers after BJP’s organized Terror, murder threats, stone pelting to heavy violence. In Tripura’s history, this is first time that Opposition Party candidates were not allowed to file nominations and State Election Commission functioned as Blind to BJP’s organized terror. TIWN will be reporting State Election Commission’s failure and BJP bias in a formal complaint to Election Commission Delhi. TIWN published videos, footage where BJP male, female activists, including MLA Ram Prasad Pal were openly involved in violence upon oppositions.

BJP's goons on the last day of nomination submission attacked police officials also, whereas MLAs, leaders went rude against the police asking with whose permission, police is trying to take action ?

After that all parties except BJP demanded re-scheduling of nomination submission but shamelessly BJP is celebrating uncontested election victories.

Instead of taking action against unruly BJP activists, rather BJP MLA Ram Prasad Pal threatened honest police officer SDPO Ajay Kumar Das for deploying 100 police officials against 500 BJP activists.

As BJP already lost public support and faith bases in 6 months of misruling, expose of fake pre-poll promises and corruptions. Even in BDO office BJP didn't allow any other party to hold meeting.

It can be remembered that on July 20, BJP leader Joylal Das in a conference of Yuva Morcha at Sabroom subdivision in South Tripura openly asked party supporters to break opposition CPI-M supporters hands and legs and not to allow them in voting or submitting nominations during Panchayat Election.

Also BJP National General Secretary, State BJP incharge Sunil Deodhar On June 26 said, “BJP will not allow CPI-M to win even a single panchayat seat in coming days”.

Out of 35 blocks, in total 28 blocks opposition couldn't submit nominations. At Bamutia Block, which is located at town area, the rigging's level was observed when BJP activists gheraoed Congress President Birjit Sinha's vehicle and started stone-pelting.

After beating IPFT activists on Sep 11 during nomination submissions, BJP forced IPFT leaders to sit in a joint press conference and to announce there is no clash existing between IPFT, BJP.

One day, before the press meet,  IPFT leader Mangal Debbarma said, "Due to the ongoing exercise of poll-violence, our most of candidates couldn't submit nominations. Boxonagar, Dura Chowmuhani, Jubarajnagar in all areas massive violence was sponsored. Police's failure to control the situation and safeguard the IPFT activists was another major reason behind it".

IPFT President NC Debbarma's Statement on Sep 12 : "Right now Tripura is undergoing by-election procedures. On yesterday, it was the last date of submitting nominations. Naturally maximum candidates from various parties attempted to submit nominations".Being asked by media, NC Debbarma said, "It's fully clear and also proven which party is sponsoring the violence across state. There is nothing to hide, but this ongoing situation is not acceptable according to democracy".

Even after much requests, State Election Commission couldn't re-schedule the nomination submission process and BJP started fake poll victory shamelessly.

BJP’s brutal suppression of Opposition Party candidates nominations and lameduck silence of State Election Commissioner G.K.Rao now raising questions whether Tripura ‘s Retd. IAS Officer G.K.Rao got a sweet deal from BJP on future postings at Delhi or elsewhere in Hyderabad.
