AGARTALA, Sep 3 (TIWN): Ex-Minister ManikDey alleged on Sunday that BJP goons in bikes are threatening people not to allow CPI-M to stand in Election.
Manik Dey has urged Election Commission to arrange security for each candidate and to create a democratic environment so that a fearless Election can be conducted.
"Around 96 per cent of the total elected representatives of CPI-M and other non-BJP parties were forced to resign following BJP leaders' and workers' threat after the saffron party-led coalition government assumed office in March", said Manik Dey.
The Tripura State Election Commission on Saturday announced by-elections to the 3,386 vacant seats of three-tier gram panchayats on September 30.
