AGARTALA, July 26 (TIWN): Following the day long cabinet meeting held on Thursday, BJP led Tripura Govt has announced that State Govt will send 7 agendas to Central Govt on the basis of which Central Govt will form a committee to solve the socio-economic-cultural-linguistic problems of the tribal people in Tripura. Addressing in a press conference, Law Minister Ratan Lal Nath said, “In our Vision Document Tripura 2018 it had been mentioned that a committee will be formed by the Govt of India to solve the socio-economic-cultural-linguistic problems faced by the tribal people of Tripura and strengthening ADC areas. Already CM has talked to Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh how to develop the tribal areas in Tripura. For that total 7 points have been placed in the cabinet which will be sent to the Central Govt shortly”. “Central Govt said, we will form the committee but what the Central team will do there would be terms and conditions of the State Govt. Centering this, the cabinet was held. There are 7 points we laid importance : 1) Economic, 2) Linguistic, 3) Cultural issue, 4) Land rights issue, 5) Educational issue, 6) Strengthening of TTADC and 7) Health issue”, Ratan Lal Nath said.

“The committee may also recommended major and proper utilization of forest patta land to the tribal people, allotted under the schedule tribe and other forest dwellers under the Forest Act under 2006. The committee may also examine and recommend a suitable economic development package for overall economic development of tribal areas in Tripura”, Nath told TIWN.

“Since many years Tribals areas left undeveloped and committee will recommend that there should be special package for the development of TTADC. It will be also given focus that there should employment opportunity”, he said.

“In those points linguistic issues, land rights, employment of quality education, strengthening of TTADC areas have been preserved. Cabinet has given approval for it and now CM will send the report to Centre. Central Govt looking into the issue will form the committee and there will no problem regarding fund then”, Ratan Lal Nath added.
