6 CPI-M activists injured in Tripura in clash with ruling BJP : Badal Choudhury asks Chief Minister to ‘Think beyond as a Party President’

AGARTALA / SANTIRBAZAR, July 23 (TIWN): Just after Tripura CPI-M MP Jitendra Chaudhury has marked PM Modi’s speech in the Parliament was ‘Not at all as a Prime Minister's speech rather he answered as a BJP-leader’, Tripura CPI-M Deputy Opposition leader Badal Choudhury asked BJP Chief Minister Biplab Deb to think beyond the party and act as a Chief Minister and leader of 37 lakhs people of the state. The statement came from the CPI-M leader was after a violent attack had been reported at Bir Chandra Manu at Santir Bazar subdivision of South Tripura. MLA Badal Choudhury, leader Parikshit Murasing were travelling from Agartala to South Tripura’s CPI-M leader Brajamohon Jamatia’s home. On that time, the violent clash was allegedly imposed by BJP at Bir Chandra Manu. Immediately the ongoing clash was informed at the local police station at there. Police rushed to the spot and controlled the situation.

Reacting over the shocking incident Badal Choudhury said, “Instead of fulfilling people’s promise, BJP is now attacking upon the fundamental rights of people". 

“Such incidents indicate what’s the condition of people here in Tripura and where is democracy standing. Since the election, I could not meet my local people. Whether they (BJP) will attack me or not, it’s a separate issue, but whom I will meet those families will be attacked. This is the condition of Tripura right”, Choudhury said.

“Chief Minister Biplab Deb is also  the Party President. If he can’t think himself beyond a Party President still he can control such violence as a Party President too”, Choudhury told media.

Badal Choudhury further said after the announcement of the February 18 Assembly polls results on March 3, the BJP government continued its attacks on innocents, opposition partie and even he himself unable to meet people Hrishyamukh area. 

"The BJP government has been trying to curb the rights of the workers and working class people. These are extremely undemocratic," remarked Choudhury.

However, from ruling BJP no reply has come after Badal Choudhury's allegations.
