AGARTALA, July 15 (TIWN): Brutal crimes against women, frequent rapes, murders already put Tripura in top position in national crime index since a decade, but instead of reduction of crime rate after CPI-M era, crime rate has spiked up exponentially in BJP’s 4 month rule. 10 year old girl Mamata Tripura’s brutal murder shocked the state against the BJP Govt, which before the election was much concerned about the 86 % crime rates, but unfortunately the crime records are increasing above than it. Mamata Tripura was missing since 2 days and today morning from a jungle, 500 meter away from her house her body was recovered. Mamata was a student of Class-4, was missing, but she was recovered in pathetic shape after was murdered brutally. Mamata’s death was reported state was yet to recover from the shock of 16 years girl’s brutal rape at Krobook and another housewife’s unnatural death at Bishalgarh on yesterday.

Today after Mamata Das another incident has further shocked the Capital City Agartala when one Police Official’s wife’s dead body was found in Police quarter.

On Sunday one police officer’s wife was found dead in his own quarter at Agartala. The deceased is Mukta Saha, W/O-SI Debasish Saha. Debasish Saha is the SI of West Agartala Police Station, is residing with his family at Police Quarter.

On July 12 a 16 years girl was brutally raped by 6 men at Korbook. The victim is class-10 student of Bashi Chandra Para School, has been hospitalized at Korbook in critical condition, undergoing treatment. She was left after gang rape in front of her house in unconscious condition.

Police have arrested 5 persons in total whereas one more is in hide.

Total 4 youths were inside the vehicle and on night she was taken in a school  at Bairagi Dokan area and gang raped. On the next day they changed the place and shifted the vehicle in a rubber garden. Then whole day she was brutally raped by the culprits. At last on Thursday night they left the girl in front of her house in unconscious condition.

Unnatural death of a 9 months pregnant woman Purnima Aktar at Bishalgarh has been informed on Saturday.

The incidents started chronologically and it can be remembered how the state govt was silent when two women at Bishalgarh was beaten in public on March 23 and from that day such mass beating had been spiked up.

Country-wide condemnations had started after Tripura's two women were assaulted openly in Bishalgarh markets but from state govt side there was no stern warning neither any statement was given by the Home Ministry led in future lynching events too.

Now removing the earlier CPI-M women leader Manika Datta Roy, BJP Mohila Morcha leader Barnali Goswami has assumed charge as the Women’s Commission’s new Chairperson. Till day not single statement has come from her against such increasing crimes, labeling the Women Commission once again a puppet in the party’s hand, just repeating the CPI-M era.

It’s a big challenge for her to fight against the high rates of crime against women as Women Commission generally functions never against the ruing govt’s reputation. In CPI-M’s time also Women Commission never talked against the Govt and always claimed that crime against women are curbing.

In rape cases, 183 cases have been registered in 2017, in 2016 total 207 rapes and in 2015 rape cases numbers are 213.In molestation total 260 cases came out in the last year, whereas in dowry total 339 cases recorded in last year.Total 117 numbers of kidnapping cases were registered in various police station in last year.
