AGARTALA, July 13 (TIWN): Tripura University Vice Chancellor Anjan Kumar Ghosh on Friday handed over charge to Dr Vijaykumar Laxmikantrao Dharurkar as the Vice Chancellor of Tripura University.

The Ex-Vice Chancellor Anjan Kumar Ghosh recently was came in media limelight after during convocation programme at Tripura University state’s Education Minister Ratan Lal Nath felt insulted. Education Minister was interrupted during his speech which led mass resentment.

Today before departure, Anjan Kumar Ghosh said, “I came in 2013, but I found even though the University was announced as Central University but nothing was there which can mark it as a central university. Not only infrastructure but also the mentality of people was not up the mark from Professors to students all”, he said.

“May be that was reason for which central govt sent a person like me here,  which I think often. My appointmnet for 5 years was against few locals wish”, Ghosh told media here.

The Vice Chancellor once came under allegation of in E-book scam and also Tripura University’s rank was heavily downed. Even few Professors held press conference with scam allegations against the Ex-VC on that time.
