AGARTALA, July 10 (TIWN): Education Minister Ratan Lal Nath as a part of his ongoing surprise visits on Tuesday has visited Kathaltali school in Madhuban and has spotted major numbers of teachers who are in leave. In many schools same problems were reported during Minister's visit and it has been seen that amid teachers crisis teachers are taking leaves. However, as they take the leaves according to the facilities which govt-job preserved for govt employees, nothing can be done with that much, but Ratan Lal Nath has checked whether proper system was followed when taking leaves. The Principal of the school was also in official leave but arrived in school with Minister’s arrival. Locals complained that the motor which was using for water facilities has left damaged since many days. In maximum classes, there is no fan which turns the summer as suffocating.
The Minister also checked the mid-day-meal and other facilities but nothing was in good shape in that school.
Tripura schools are suffering majorly from lack of qualities among the teachers. Tripura schools are having 9.5 teachers in average i.e. less than 10 teachers in a school. Total 4385 numbers of school are here in Tripura right now whereas the teachers numbers are 41,912. Out of 41,912 teachers 9,022 teachers are trained whereas 32,890 teachers are untrained.
