AGARTALA, July 8 (TIWN): Tripura Chief Minister Biplab Deb ordered traffic dept to introduce zebra-crossing in front of all schools and traffic lights at each corner of the state on April 23, when he was addressing Road Safety Week at Swami Vivekananda Stadium.

However, no development has come in this regard across the state’s schools, neither traffic lights were increased as he promised to be completed within June 18.

On the Road Safety Week at Swami Vivekananda Stadium, the Chief Minister had instructed the traffic dept to complete zebra crossings in front of all school roads across the state and told traffic dept, "If dept wants then within 7 days it can complete zebra crossing works".

Not only this, the Chief Minister also had talked about launching of traffic lights in all roads of Tripura within June 18.

“Zebra crossing is another important aspect which can curb accidents. But the Chief Minister also has to stop when public are walking on the zebra crossing. In front of each school , zebra crossing should be painted within next 7 days and if the dept wants it can do it. The previous govt in last 25 years did nothing, but now it's a challenge for us to fill up all the gaps done by them", Biplab Deb said.

However, after the promise above 2 months have been passed without development. Now it’s to be seen how much time it takes to fulfill Road Safety Week-2018’s promise of the Chief Minister.
