AGARTALA, July 7 (TIWN): Once again, Tripura is in national limelight for wrong reasons because of Chief Minister Biplab Deb’s immature reply on Mob-lynching issue according to Times of India and Times Now Senior Correspondent report, when he was asked by journalists in this particular issue. A video is now viral since the occasion of renaming of Agartala Airport's name after Tripura's last king Maharaja Bir Bikram Manikya Bahadur on July4, where Chief Minister Biplab Deb has been spotted saying in reaction to mob-lynching, “A wave of happiness is existing everywhere in Tripura. You see my face. I am happy and you also try to be happy”. This statement came after Biplab Deb said in reply of Times Now correspondent Arindam Das.

However, the Chief Minister almost said same on July 1st on this same issue, “Don’t talk on controversial issues, it will be good for you and me both”.

On the other side, CPI-M, Congress and Trinamool have condemned the statement of Chief Minister leading further damages to BJP’s image ahead of Lok Sabha, when at least four people have been killed brutally in last few days.

Via press conference Congress leader Gopal Roy has condemned the statement, whereas CPI-M has released video on CM’s statement. Trinamool media cell chief Sandeep Chakraborty claimed such statement by the Chief Minister will lead more violence in coming days.

According to NDTV reporting, when Biplab Deb was asked on that issue he replies, “I think that you all should think that today there is a wave of happiness in Tripura. You should also enjoy this happiness wave and you will also become happy. Look at my face, how happy I am. It's people's government and people will take action”.

Times Now reported, “Tripura Chief Minister Biplab Deb said that the incidents of mob lynching in Tripura are not stray ones instead work of those who want to create problems for the state government. He evaded Times Now questions & rather talks about the state being in a happy state”

Tripura Chief Minister earlier also came under controversy with similar statements as :

1.     April14, 2018 ONGC Ambedkar birth anniversary : Tripura’s tourist spot in Amarpur-Chabimura is better than Amazon river and if the tourists don’t feel the same after visiting Chabimura, Chief Minister from own pocket will return the trip-expenses. CM also said, “Amazon River is located on Africa” (not South America),

2.     April 17, 2018 (Pragna Bhawan E-Rationing programme): Internet and satellites existed in Mahabharata-Era and via Internet Sanjay was giving live updates of Kurukshetra war to the blind king Dritarashtra.

3.     April 19, 2018 (Udaipur Town Hall in felicitation programme by journalists): Before lakhs of years India has Journalists. The “Pandits” of Raj-Durbar were actually journalists, whose work was to inform everything to the king,

4.     April 26, 2018 (Pragna Bhawan, Handloom marketing programme): Foreign Textile industries are run by Mafia who selects Miss Worlds to sell their cloths.Diana Hayden didn’t deserve the Miss-World award as she doesn’t look like an Indian woman and her style is unworthy to represent India. Indian women should be like Goddess Laxmi, Saraswati and Aishwarya Rai is still fine to title as Miss World. Not only this, CM also claimed there was no credit any Indian woman to get the Miss World or Miss Universe awards at all as such beauty-contests are fake and ramp walks are just for “shows”. The awardees names are selected before the competition.

5.     April 27, 2018 (Pragna Bhawan, Civil Service Day): Mechanical engineers should not join Civil Services but Civil Engineers should.

6.     April 28,2018 (Pragna Bhavan, World Veterany Day): Buy cows or open a paan-shop instead of running after political parties for Govt Jobs. A message for Tripura's 7 lakhs unemployed youths.

7.     May 20, 2018 (NEDA Meeting, Assam): CM said Assam Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma is a Doctor treating partients (actually he is not to treat patients, Phd holder).

8.     April 7,2018 (Civil Service Day):  CM  said "Will Chop Off Nails Of Those Interfering In My Government"

However, even after central BJP’s warning against gaffe, Biplab Deb continues in come in the national media limelight with unnecessary extra comments.
