AGARTALA, July 5 (TIWN): With yet another connectivity drive of Modi-govt for much-isolated Northeast, Tripura is all set to get another Express train which will connect it directly with Jharkhand. Agartala-Deoghar Express has arrived in Agartala Railway Station on last night to kick of its first ever journey from here to Deoghar. Union Railways Minister Piyush Goyal to flag off its maiden journey tomorrow in the presence of Chief Minister Biplab Deb and other Ministers, NFR high officials. Total 14 bogies have arrived to mark the maiden journey of the weekly express. Keeping the flag off programme ahead, Agartala-Deoghar express’s inauguration preparation are on peak at Agartala Railway Station. Dais is being set for the historical programme which will be marked in the presence of Union Railways Minister Piyush Goyal on tomorrow.

Although the train will be flagged off from Agartala on July 6, its regular service will begin from July 14. Right now Tripura has Tripura Sundari Express, Rajdhani, Humsafar Express, Kanchanjunga Express.

The train was one of BJP's pre-election assurances to assist thousands of devotees of Anukul Thakur to visit their holy place at Deoghar. The Express train will cover a distance of 1,473 km in 39 hours.This Express to be also a part of tourism industry as a good numbers of passengers are expected to travel to Deoghar for religion purposes. Deoghar is a holy city beside the Mayurakshi River, in the east Indian state of Jharkhand.

The ancient Baba Baidyanath Temple complex is a significant Hindu pilgrimage site. Nearby, Shiv Ganga is a sacred pool where devotees of Shiva bathe. There is a shrine to Krishna in the ornate, stone-carved Naulakha Mandir temple. Northeast of town, Harila Jori is the site of a whitewashed Shiva temple and a sacred water tank. With the launching of new express, a good numbers of passengers are expected to travel via Deoghar Express.

Right now the train is being cleaned, decorated for tomorrow's maiden journey.
