AGARTALA, July 1 (TIWN): Even after PM Modi’s strict warning on April 2018 to BJP politicians against the attitude of controlling media voice after serving ‘masala’ to them, Chief Minister Biplab Deb on Sunday once again lectured media, how they should function. Biplab Deb was asked by journalists what is the situation of the state followed by "rumour-mongering" and he replied, “Look, you should not speak on sensitive issues or which are controversial. It will only help international Mafia (no clue what it means). It will be good for both me and you if we do not talk about that”. When journalists tried to re-approach CM for to give statement on the law and order condition followed by "rumours" spread after Law Minister Ratan Lal Nath’s statement, CM said, “If you are from Tripura, think about Tripura’s development. Infact I want to tell all the media persons that they should not anymore discuss on such issues".

CM further added, "I don’t want any International mafia should exist in Tripura, rather we should stay only in this state and work for development for Tripura’s betterment”.

However, media has been talking about romour mongering on kidney-smuggling after Tripura DGP A K Shukla slammed state media for giving wrong information claiming all media have written ‘fake news’ after a 10 years boy Purna Biswas was killed at Mohanpur on June 26. State media wrote on that day that kidney of the boy was taken away after killing. The killing was followed by various other murders in the state.

However, after DGP's press meet, soon media exposed that the wrong information came from the Law Minister Ratan Lal Nath himself after he gave a brief to media that Purna Biswas’s kidney was taken away by smugglers.

Today after the video was exposed, CM totally denied to talk on that issue saying it’s good for both for him and media persons if the issue is stopped right now !

Noteworthy, amid murders of journalists in Manik Sarkar led CPI-M era nobody insulted media by inventing terms as ‘fake news’, ‘negative news’, ‘positive news’ etc. A major section of media persons are resented as there was no apology by the Law Minister neither Police took its harsh words back over media.
